Attack of the Clones

I am just using this new blog to test out a few layouts.
You see I'm happy with the contents of my wannabe blog but feel I need to improve the appearence and make it slicker, less cluttered. That said I really don't want my food blog to end up looking like some many others.
There seems to be a lot of clones at there.

So if any of my friends would like to offer advice that it would appreciated.
